Bowlers setup victory

Put into the field on a scorching Bank Holiday Monday, Waverley’s openers Dan Litwin and Sam Tempest bowled a very tight line and with the change at 16 overs only 23 runs had been scored and two wickets lost. Adrian Day and Malorie Short continued the good work with Day
picking up two wickets (whilst bowling some utter filth AD) however Brooks remained resolute and Alan Johnson added 21 vital runs. Peter Brewer also bowled well grabbing two wickets and at the 40 over point Eversley had 109 runs. After tea the home sides opening bowlers Board and Howarth couldn’t stop Ben Harris racing to 31 before being caught only to be replaced by brother Mike Harris who steered the visitors to victory with other Waverley batsmen playing only cameo parts.
