Waverley lose at Rudgwick

Put into the field Waverley soon claimed their first wicket, but were to be frustrated by the domineering Dominic Page who ran the innings single handed. The visitors took wickets regularly apart from a good partnership of 77 between Page and Martin Clark. Cruelly on 98 a cracking ball from Jamie Harris clipped the base of Page’s off stump and the superb innings was over. A final flurry and Rudgwick settled on 191 off their 40 overs.

A similar innings followed from Waverley with Jamie Harris (80) dominating his side’s batting efforts. Will Forster bowled well and in his first spell accounted for 3 of the top echelon of the travelling side. With Harris guiding his side along at 5 an over it looked as if Waverley could just do it but the return of Forster slowed the rate and took Harris being ninth man down, the last just a formality.
