Waverley well beaten

A welcome return fixture for Waverley after a break of 30 years this fixture was played at Cove due to the Fairlands pitch being vandalised. Batting first, Waverley looked to be getting off to a reasonable start Jim Wright opening with Jamie Harris and putting 27 on the board before Harris was pouched. Replaced by Marcus Carmichael a good partnership of 39 ensued but then the Fairlands bowlers got on top with Jacques, Vickram and Ram destroying the side.

After tea Adrian Day struck twice quickly and a run out was claimed, now it was game on but at this point Martand steadied the ship. Mundia struck 4 boundaries in his short innings but it was Jacques who ensured the Fairlands’ victory with a fine 31 not out.
