An early morning trip to Burnt Oak for the boys and dedicated parents saw 2 evenly matched teams both attempting to play passing football. Wealdstone were well organised and competitive and managed to create the better chances in the first half, creating opportunities for Oliver and Oscar but their goal keeper and a bobbly pitch kept the score 0-0. In the 2nd half Eagles managed to burst through and take the lead, but Wealdstone battled back and equalised with a run and shot from Harrison. Wealdstone worked further chances through some nice passing, with the Eagles keeper making good saves from Charlie and Harrison and shots just wide from Thomas and Oscar. Then with 2 mins to Eagles intercepted the ball in the midfield, played it forward and their striker raced onto the ball before James could get there and bundled it in to the back of the Wealdstone net. 2-1. A disappointing result in a game where we created more chances and deserved more, but as pitches get muddy Wealdstone will face more of these type challenges.
