Club friendly results

1st Team

Played at home V Wolverhampton 1st who are a division above us.

Wolverhampton went 0 v 1 up on 14 mins and at that point due to a lapse of concentration this game could have been telephone numbers to Wolverhampton.

Wednesbury still missing 3 or 4 key members of the squad did not think the same as Marcus Bourne came close minutes later. Wednesbury began to play with more confidence and although the game formation was not as tight as the coach expected they held till half time.

In the 2nd half however, Wednesbury were so much better and on 50th minute Jacob Corcorran got the score level. Wednesbury played hard and fast and their pressure held Wolverhampton at bay. Unfortunately, Wednesbury went to sleep for a 5 minute period and took their foot off the pedal. Wolverhampton capitalised and scored on 60th and 62nd minutes to make the end score 1 v 3 in their favour.

The game could have been very different if only the umpire had played advantage after Wolverhampton committed a foul in the "D"

and Corcorran was there, one on one with the keeper and as he was about to strike the ball the umpire blew the whistle. That was the game changer.

2nd team

The seconds played away at Aldersley stadium v Wolvermapton. Unfortunately I was not there to see this team score a telephone number of goals finally winning 0 v 11. Wednesbury goal scorers were Ryan Mackenzie 3, Luke Mackenzie 2, Shiv Sharma 2, Armaan Sarwar 1, Bradley Bellingham 1, Diamiso Nzarayebani 2.

Nice one 2nd's about time you showed your worth, looks like things are on the up for a change. Its about time Wednesbury 2nd's proved that they are a good team just had a lot of things go against them last season but they have persevered.

Badgers

Again this crop of youngsters came away with a win. I understand that they played well below what they are capable of but still came away with a 0 v 2 win thanks to a couple of goals by Callum Rummins.

Once again the progression of development for a 3rd team to be ready for next season was halted when Wolverhampton called off at the last minute. Two weeks on the trot now games that had been accepted and dates etc put in diaries have been cancelled on the Friday prior to the Saturday game. People have been disappointed. Better luck for "6th lads
