Leek 0-4 Wednesbury

Wednesbury made a winning start to 2020 by beating Leek 3rd XI 4-0 away from home. This fixture was a re-arranged game from a previously frozen off game. Special thanks to Sunny Mehmi, Mark Whitehouse and Damo Turner for stepping in at the last minute to play. Wednesbury began the game on the back foot with Leek applying all of the early pressure. Wednesbury dragged themselves back into the game and took the lead when Sunny scored a reverse stick strike. Not long after Marcus Bourne scored with a low strike to the bottom corner and Sunny added a third just before the break. Rocco scored the final goal of the game with a screaming strike from the top of the D late into the second half. A difficult game just after Xmas but a good result and keeps the unbeaten run going.
