Wet weather meant that the game was late in starting and reduced to 34 overs aside. Weirs batted first and posted a useful 179 for 6 off their 34 overs, Roman Butt scoring 45 and Mohammed Kamran 33. Renfrew were soon in trouble in their reply, sliding to 30 for 3 and never really recovered. They were eventually bowled out for 130, Sameer Zia taking 3 for 16 for Weirs.
The second XI game, also against Renfrew, fell victim to the rain. Let's hope the weather is much better next weekend for what will be one of the most famous days in the club's history; the Centenary match against the MCC.
