Lions Chairman reviews club progress

This is the first of a monthly review from Chairman Chris Hufton.

Welbeck FC has been providing football since 1975 that's 42 years it's had its ups and downs but new life is upon us now with the u16's manager Jordan Johnson and assistant Glen Holland doing a fine job in the notts youth league , Gary Edwards with his u13's Martin Pearson with the u11 boys Megan Holmes, Charlie Harley and Michael Knight with the u11 girls Matt Quicks u9's and myself and Caren Hufton's u9's all working very hard in their leagues . But something has been happening at the top too the senior team has also had a new lease of life with a new manager Nev Hunt and assistant Ash Barber bringing with them a line of players and it seems we are no longer the laughing stock or whipping boys of the league and we can see light at the end of the tunnel . Since dragging a point at askern in December it has been hard graft for the seniors I have watched them get stronger and stronger week after week and the proof is in the pudding.
Retford 4-1 Welbeck
Thorne 1-1 Welbeck
Welbeck 3-1Bilsthorpe
But unfortunately
FC Bolsover 6-0 welbeck
We have now been tested and there will be more ups and downs along the way but great things are coming and as I stand here holding the reigns of this proud club the message is still the same never give up , believe in yourself, do great things and be proud of the people working with you as I am.
Thank you
Chris Hufton
Chairman
Welbeck Lions FC
