It was going to take more than a mere monsoon to stop the good people of Berriew and beyond turning out in large numbers to bid a fond farewell to 'one of their own' this morning, Graham Tuffin.
And so, fighting back the urge to hug, or even shake hands with fellow mourners, most lining the streets kept their hands occupied with a glass or bottle in it, just the way 'Tuff' would have wanted it.
As I walked up and down the road, small groups were remembering Tuff and, despite the sad occasion, laughter was breaking out as one story after another was told of a 'good time here and a good time there' and Graham being the common denominator. One thing you were guaranteed of when you went anywhere with this fella, was a good time ?
It was pleasing for me to see Welshpool Rugby Club well represented and I'm sure that when we're able to, we will give Tuff the send off that his contribution to our club, over many years, fully deserves.
To Linda and all the family, sincere condolences at this very sad time, our thoughts and prayers are with you all. RIP Graham.
