JOCA Committee

Daily life can be tough, and the challenges that we all face can at times, place a large amount of pressure on us, our families and our friends. We feel it’s important that as a Club, we not only support each other on the pitch, but extend that support off of it as well. For the 2016/17 season, we’re proud to be launching a club-wide Welfare Committee, Just One Click Away (JOCA for short) to help our members through the tough times, as well as be a part of the good.

This is a member lead and initiated programme of support. We recognize that there are many situations in life that you may need some guidance or a friendly ear, or an event that you’ve not encountered before and could need some advice. Welwyn RFC has a diverse membership and the Welfare Committee will provide a connector amongst our network for when you need help, to the individual or organization that is best placed to help you.
Initially, it is a confidential support email address that you can discretely contact should you be in a crisis; either emotional, financial or welfare situation where you are unsure where to turn.
The member lead support team of individuals can help you to identify a range of support services for your particular circumstances.

It’s important that as a club, we’re there to support each other through the good and the bad. That we encourage our team mates and fellow members to share their challenges so that we may all share the load in overcoming difficult times. And where we feel we’re unable to talk to our friends and family, that the JOCA Committee is seen as a safe, confidential first port of call for support and information when we need it most.
