Girls help demonstrate to Maro Itoje how to line out properly :)

On Wednesday 3rd April, the Welwyn Ladies side were invited to be the primary demo side on BT Sport's Rugby Tonight programme. With many of the U18 girls side not only being eligible to play for but being key members of the ladies side now, they were also invited to the show.

So, on a night when the remainder of the U18s training in snow, 9 girls/ladies plus coaches Si Lynch, Jonathan Cirkel and Phil Taylor as well as 3 fathers/supporters travelled to the studios in Stratford. Arriving at 6:30pm, once changed into full playing kit, the girls then took part in the rehearsals for the show before the live filming started just before 8pm.

Apart from the great experience of being on live TV and taking part in the demos with Maro and Ben Kay and Ellie being chosen as one of those to tackle the 'smashometer', it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening seeing how the show is 'put together' as well as 'live edited'.

A great night for (in alphabetical order) Abbie & Abbie, Amber, Annabel, Catherine, Ellie Hannah, Megan, Mikayla

With many thanks to BT Sport for the invitation.
