Making the short journey to Bradford on Avon

A dominant start by Westbury who were determined to play running rugby led to early pressure and Bradford were unable to defend out wide. Winger Jonathan Dolman scored his first competitive try for Westbury; unfortunately, stand in captain Nigel Kershaw missed the extras. Westbury continued to dominate early in the half and captain Nigel Kershaw doubled Westbury's lead this time adding the extras Bradford 0 Westbury 12.

Bradford came straight back at Westbury and with continued infringements lead to Bradford's first try the conversion was added Bradford 7 Westbury 12.

This got Westbury going again and blindside flanker Robert Lewis crashed over after some excellent offloading rugby. The extras were again missed Bradford 7 Westbury 17.

Bradford then again put the Westbury line under pressure and after several warnings openside flanker Logan Smith was sinbinned for consistent infringements Bradford took quick advantage and added a second try conversion missed half time Bradford 12 Westbury 17.

Westbury began the second half determined to see off their opponents quickly and after sustained pressure lock Christopher Nash barged through the defence to add to Westbury's lead. Stand-off Aaron Vaughan now taking over the kicking duties added the conversion making it 12-24.

Almost straight from the restart Westbury, again, began working their way up field and scrum half Mathew Inseal took advantage of a lack defence and sprinted through a gap and crossing the whitewash. Vaughan again adding the extras Bradford 12 Westbury 31.

With the Westbury backs running riot the forwards wanted in on the action and from a rolling maul on the halfway line stand in hooker Reece Ball broke free, he sprinted through and crashed over the line to increase Westbury's lead Vaughan adding the conversion 12-38.

Westbury began to show their killer instinct and by pinning Bradford in their own 22. The pressure began to tell and making up for his earlier sinbinning Logan Smith pounced on a loose ball crashing through the Bradford defence to add another 5 points Vaughan again adding the extra two points Bradford 12 Westbury 45.

With the game now won Westbury were keen to show off their skills and winger Jonathan Dolman, again, barged his way over to score his second try Vaughan adding the conversion 12-52.

Bradford did not lose their fighting spirit and caught Westbury napping and added a third try, unfortunately missing the conversion Bradford 17 Westbury 52.

It was however Westbury who had the last word and again it was blindside flanker Robert Lewis who, scoring his second try, finished off the game in style and yet again Aaron Vaughan adding the extra two final score Bradford 17 Westbury 59.

Westbury take on combe down at Knott field this Saturday hoping to continue their good form.
