Chilt suffered their first defeat of the season away to Lavant.
Chilt were missing goalkeeper David Williams, Scott Pulling, Dan Clayton, and Jay Newton. However, they still had a strong squad available.
Chilt were particularly poor in the first half and never really got going. It was mainly Lavant causing the problems and the home side took the lead after 25 minutes when a slightly deflected effort beat Craig Dawson in the West Chilt goal. James Sandford then finished extremely well to put Lavant 2-0.
At halftime Chilt switched Gary Weedon and Craig Pulling and then they played their best football in the 15 minute period after half time. Paul McCafferty pulled one back with a good strike from distance. Chilt were starting to get on top. However, just as it felt Chilt could equalise, Lavant regained their two goal advantage. A good finish from Danny Baker.
An afternoon where things just didn't quite click. Also, worrying that a number of players picked up slight knocks - hoping they are fit for the next weekend.
Next up - Holbrook FC. Chilt at home - please note a 2pm kick off.
