WCFC headed to a notoriously tricky match at Newtown Villa with only 11 players. Injuries, availability issues and last minute drop outs caused issues for both squads this week. In comparison, Newtown had a strong starting 11 and five subs.
Chilt started well with Gary Weedon getting a lot of joy down the right side and he scored after about 10 minutes. Chilt played well for the first 20 minutes but then performed very badly for the last 25 minutes of the first half. This period was to prove costly as Newtown scored twice during this period. 2-1 HT.
Newtown added a third shortly after half time, however, Chilt got right back into the game when Dan Clayton headed in from a corner. Chilt pushed for an equaliser with Charlie Monaghan and Craig Pulling going close. However, Newtown managed to see out the game successfully.
M.O.M Craig Pulling
A committed effort from the 11 that made themselves available. Hopefully availability will improve in the next few weeks.
