Match Report

WCFC started the game strongly and put Predators under a lot of pressure. This led to Chilt stealing the ball off the Predators captain near the half way line and new signing Josh Burns raced through and chipped the ball over the keeper to make it 1-0. Shortly after it was 2-0 when Ash Hills burst of his wing into the centre of the box to head home a Gary Weedon cross. Chilt were the dominant side in the first half and should have been more than 2-0 up.

Predators came out revitalised after half time and it was now them who were on top. Matt Dann pulled off two tremendous saves but Predators eventually scored a good goal to make it 2-1. Chilt then had the chance to make it 3-1 from the penalty spot. Craig Pulling played in Gary Weedon who clashed with a defender in the box. It was a debatable decision but the penalty was awarded. Charlie Monaghan stepped up and confidently made it 3-1.

Shortly after Craig Pulling played through Josh Burns who was taken out by the Predators defender and the penalty was rightly awarded. Monaghan stepped up again but this time the spot kick was saved. By now the game had become slightly farcical and Chilt were awarded another penalty kick after the Predators full back had made an excellent tackle on Gary Weedon after a great reverse pass by Dan Leppard. Monaghan missed once more and the game stayed at 3-1.

The only concern for Chilt was an injury to Matt Langley, who injured his knee midway through the second half.

A good start to the season so far!!
