I have to admit watching Fittleworth in the warm up and not really knowing much about a number of Chilt players I feared we would be up against it, however after 10 minutes play all my fears had gone and I have to say I was really impressed.
The new players all look very useful and that with some old faces
made for a very good combination, had Chris Garlic managed to put home a golden opportunity Chilt would have had a deserved half time lead.
The second half was a pretty even contest up until 25 minutes to go when tired legs gifted Fittleworth 3 or 4 one on one chances, fortunately all went wide and that with a disallowed goal for offside kept the score level. It then looked like a hard fought draw would be the outcome, that was until Jordan Price coming in for the
injured Connor Weedon scored from a cross which deceived the keeper.... and everyone else, including himself.
All in all a very good game, well worth the watch and if that
blend of youth and experience can be maintained, it bodes well for the remainder of the season.
