Admittedly it was against a poor Division One side, who allowed us too much room to strut our stuff, but you've still got to respond and our attitude and energy was spot on. I made several positional changes in midfield, a brand new pairing of Craig & Gary up front and with Scott Wolters back in defence, we looked a totally different side.
Paul McCafferty, who had an excellent game on the left side of midfield, opened the scoring, then Gary Weedon made great use of his pace to grab a brace before Dan Leppard, playing on the right side of midfield, crashed the ball home so hard it nearly burst through the net to put us 4 up at the break.
Man-of-the-match Ryan de Gruchy got us back on the scoring trail immediately after the break with powerful header from a Charlie Monaghan cross and substitute Ryan Ashley made the best of his cameo 30 minute appearance when he forced a Rudgwick defender to turn a cross into his own net, before grabbing a brace for himself. There was just time enough for McCafferty to finish as he started with his 2nd and Chilt's 9th.
All round, a very good performance and one which has given us much confidence before we take on a Division 4 side next week!!
