The all-rounder starred with bat and ball, scoring 53 from 55 balls and taking 4-14.
Westgate batted first after winning the toss and scored 106-8 from 20 overs. Stan Rich (4-6) did the damage for Carnforth with the ball.
Carnforth reached the target with eight balls remaining at the expense of six wickets. Opener Chris Parry (41*) carried his bat.
After a mis-field by Carnforth, Craig Buchanan (5) got off the mark but his fellow opener Matthew Hannigan (0) was out first ball caught by Ryan Nelson at mid off off the bowling of his uncle Darren Nelson (1-18).
Dylan Conroy came in and improved Westgate's fortunes, but it was looking as though it could be a low-scoring innings for T20 standards as they were 27-2 at the end of the powerplay, with opener Buchanan not really getting into the game before being dismissed.
And by the halfway stage, the Division 1b leaders were 53-3 with captain Andy Hill (9) the next to go. Little did they know at this point that the score they were on track for was the score they were going to get.
It was a tough wicket to get runs on, and Dylan Conroy probably would've thought he could've got more runs on a normal day. The middle order were all victims of the bowling of Stan Rich, who dismissed Hill, Chris Carter (0), Andreas Arestidou (2) and Jack Huntington (1).
There was only one other Westgate player to reach double figures - Garry Tattersall, who normally opens on a Saturday, batting at eight. Tattersall worked really well - running between the wickets and hitting a boundary as well to make 12 not out.
In the last over, Dylan Conroy and Sam Conroy (1) were both run out as Westgate finished on 106-8.
Carnforth had a tremendous start to their innings, reaching 40-0 by the end of the powerplay - 13 ahead of Westgate at the same point.
Dylan Conroy was the first change bowler and after conceding six in his first over, he took the wickets of Ryan Nelson (21) and Bradley Hoyle (0) in the seventh over to get his side into the game.
He proceeded to remove Shane Dixon (9) and Adam Hornby (1) in his third and fourth over, with the last over of his spell being a wicket-maiden.
By the halfway stage, Carnforth reached 57-3 and were on track for the win before Conroy's fourth wicket in the 11th over.
Tom Parkinson (28) and Parry did most of the damage in their partnership - putting on 38 for the fifth wicket taking their side to 95-5 when Parkinson was caught by Arestidou off the bowling of Hannigan meaning they needed just 12 to win.
Westgate had a glimmer of hope when Jack Thompson was caught by Hannigan off the bowling of Zak Buchanan in the first ball of the penultimate over, but then Parry went on to hit two fours and a six to seal the win for Carnforth with eight balls remaining.
Up next for Westgate is Trimpell at home in the league on Saturday (1:30pm start).
