For the third successive Saturday Westgate were involved in a pulsating last over finish and for the second successive time finished up losing the game. In a game reduced to 32 overs / side by the rain the home team won a decisive toss & elected to field. After 15 overs the Westgate innings was in tatters at 32 for 5 as Ryan Needham extracted excessive bounce from the wicket, his figures at that time were
7 - 3 - 15 - 4. A fightback was lead by Khan Puffett in partnerships with Danny Wilkinson of 28 and finally Peter Wilson (26 n. o.) of 56 as he took the final score to 134. Khan finished on 51 n. o. off 58 balls, Needham returning 5 for 58.
After a heavy roller session the wicket calmed down but still offered some assistance to the bowlers. Two early wickets were followed by a 54 run stand between Ricky Nelson (18) and Tom Barnfield (56), then three quick wickets were followed by a 47 run stand as the game ebbed & flowed. When Barnfield departed Graeme Crowther (23 n. o.) was the man to see Warton to victory as he hit the winning boundary in the final over. For the visitors Dylan Conroy, Andy Nisbet & Peter Wilson all finished with 2 wickets.
