On a day when the sun came out, Heysham won the toss and batted. Their innings was held together by Jamie Antcliffe who batted through the two drinks breaks to the closure and scored 52 n.o. He was supported by Andy Hill (19) and Andy Powers (12) and after 24 overs the score was a useful 71 for 3.
The introduction of Dylan Conroy halted their progress as in a seven over spell he took five wickets for six runs and completed superb figures of 14 - 5 - 24 - 6. At the other end Zak Buchanan left himself on a hat - trick after taking the last two wickets in two balls and overall figures of 12.2 - 4 - 37 - 4. A total of 117 looked well short of par.
With regular opener Craig Buchanan nursing an injury and players on crutches everywhere you looked, the loss of the first wicket with 0 runs scored meant a hero was needed.
David Stephenson (7) added 40 for the next wicket and then Andy Hill (18) added another 72 with Dylan Conroy as he decided to win the match quickly, making an undefeated 85 with 10 fours in 68 balls with his 50 using up just 43 balls.
For the visitors, Sam Calverley bowled well with 2 for 13 but received little assistance elsewhere as Dylan completed a brilliant all - round performance and finished the match in he 23rd over.
The 15 points keeps Westgate in hot pursuit of the Division 1 leaders with 3 games to go.
