Wests travelled to Morley in the derby a little over a week ago, my adoring fans have been wondering where the report was, unfortunately for them I’ve been away (I have some lovely photos should anyone want to see) and can’t really remember what happened – a week is a long time in sport so they say - below is a small summary.
Eliah was class, scored one and could have had another, Calders was also class and got two to race ahead in the top try scorer race.
Jack Marshall missed the proverbial tap in, early in the first half.
Keir got some good kicks, then refused to catch one which gave Morley a try scoring bonus point.
I was cruelly binned, almost certain I wouldn’t of done anything warranting a penalty yet alone a card.
Morley scored 4 trys, one from Keir turning in to a hologram when trying to catch, another when whoever was at guard turned in to a hologram. I don’t remember the other two, probably Bettsys fault, even though he wasn’t playing.
A more comprehensive report of events is available on the Morley website, as is the photo I’ve stolen (Credit to Dennis Elam, some good photos on there).
Stringer played well, might have marked him as man of the match in the stats, who knows. Sam made a few tackles, Tim took a scrum against the head on our own 5m line, Alex Hughes brought a speaker.
Full Time was 29-22 to Morley, we got one bonus point in what was a really fast and physical game.
Stay tuned for the report of Morpeth…
