This week Sunniva, captain of the women team has agreed to answer a few questions regarding the National Cup Final on the 11th/12th of May.

  • How did you feel when you qualified for the Final?

Sunni: « The semi-final against Cambridge was a really close game so I actually felt more relieved than anything else right after the game, but now I’m really excited and proud of the team for reaching the final. »

  • How do you and your team prepare for the National Cup ?

Sunni: « As a team, we will continue as normal with training once a week for 2 hours. I think we’re all eager to play in the final so we’ll give a little bit extra at training to improve what we do well and also the stuff we need to work on. The key is to stay focused on our game and our strengths and not think too much about what Hawks will do. »
« Personally, I’ll just do my standard pre-game rituals before the game. «

  • How do you support your team?

Sunni: « For our team to perform well it’s important that we’re focused and having fun at the same time, both at training and in matches. I think I mainly support the team by making sure Paul finishes training on time on Wednesdays, because if he had it his way, we’d probably train until midnight! »

  • Which advice can you give to the U19 girls for the Final?

Sunni: « The girls have already been in the final before so they know what it’s like - exciting, fun and a great achievement to even be there. My advice would be to let the confidence of reaching the final shine through for one more game and really make the most of it. Focus on yourselves and try to set each other up for success in every position. »

We wish you good luck for you and your team!
