It is with sadness that we have just learned of another ex player who has passed away. Mike Lyons was a member of Westoe for over fifty years and played mainly for the First Team in the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties before retiring from first team duties to start a new career playing for Westoe Senators where he was part of a team which won the Durham County fourth team shield many times.
He was a talented prop but also played at hooker when required. Mike was 73 years old and died on the 16th December. No details of his funeral are known at the present time. R.I.P.
