South Shields Westoe progress to the Northern Divisional Final, which equates to the Quarter Finals of the Intermediate National Cup and face Bowdon RFC at Wood Terrace this Saturday, 3.00pm KO

After last Saturday’s resounding victory against close league rivals, Novocastrians, Westoe take one step closer to a second Twickenham dream as they enter the last eight in the country. Their last visit to Twickenham was in the same competition in 2005 where they lost 21-11 to Morley.

Back in 2005, Captain Gareth Nesbitt stated “We’ll be coming back for more”, and if Westoe can navigate through the next two matches they will be back, albeit fourteen years later.
