2nds cant cope with cry offs
By David Addison | Monday 10th September 2012
A weakened Novos 2nds realised the harsh reality of life in a higher league when they were crushed by a strong Westoe outfit.
Novos 2nds had 12 cry offs or injury from the original selected squad, including some last minute drop outs... The result highlights what can happen at this level if we cant put our strongest side on the pitch.
Westoe would have proved a challenge for any Novos side we could muster let alone one forced to play with a back row in the centres and a 2nd row on the wing!
As it happens the lads who stood in did so admirably in tough circumstances and stuck to the task against a National league club.
Man of the Match in a tough game was Jonny Smith who registered Novos only try.
Its disappointing to lose so heavily after a promising start against Blaydon so hopefully we can get our acts together in time for the visit of a strong Corbridge Centurions (Its Tynedale really!) next week.
