West go through to the next round.

McCrea West of Scotland started their Scottish Cup campaign against Drumpellier. Captain Ian Young couldn't make the game due to injury. His teammates believe this was due to his newest exercise in his training regime.

After his last ball heroics the previous day, James Fennah stood in as skipper. Drumpellier won the toss and decided to bat against West's strong bowling lineup. The new ball was shared by Kleinveldt and "Scotland's fastest bowler", Gavin Smith. After four overs, Drumpellier were reduced to 7/2 by some hostile bowling from Smith. Kleinveldt joined the party with a deserved wicket in the seventh over with an LBW.

Skipper, Fennah decided to ring the changes introducing Etheridge and McNulty in to the attack. It wasn't long before Etheridge managed to produce a false shot and Williams took his first catch of the day. McNulty bowled four good overs but for no reward.

Fennah brought himself on tand removed the opener Allison for 33 with help from a Kieran Chance catch at mid on. This started a collapse for Drumpellier. Brown was entered in to the attack and picked up his first wicket in his first over with stinging catch hit to Kleinveldt. Fennah then decided to put an end to the innings: A double wicket maiden saw Drumpellier fall to 81/8. The last wicket was taken by the spin of Chance with a well flighted delivery that hit the pad and the LBW left Drumpellier all out within 31 overs for 91.

With no Young to open the batting, Miller had a new partner in Etheridge. With the exception of Etheridge, Wests top order did not fire. Miller was out in theto sharp catch at slip. Farndale followed soon after in the 8th over for 5 when he came down the wicket but forgot to hit the ball.

Fennah and Chance were next to go leaving West in a potential hole with the score 43/4. Etheridge, undeterred, continued to play his shots eventually for 26. This brought Kleinveldt and the experienced Williams to the crease with 43 required and 5 wickets remaining. The pair knocked it around without taking many risks to see West over the line.

There was a trademark six from Kleinveldt to give the supporters what they came for before he hit the winning runs with a four over square leg.

The next round is scheduled for the 23rd of June where McCrea West of Scotland travel to Albert Park to take on Weirs.
