In a 37 over reduced game, West batted first. Once again, early stands set a platform for an explosive innings from Kleinveldt. It was an exceptional batting performance: good stands, putting away bad balls, rotating the strike well and accelerating though the innings up to a destructive last few overs. DLS estimated a 50 over score of 278.
It was also clinical performance with the ball as well. Drumpellier started behind the rate and things quickly got out of hand. Although it was even at 10 overs on 44-1, the next 10 overs saw four wickets fall for 22 runs and the game was quickly getting out of reach. Oliver and Brown bowled in a strong partnership in these overs, setting the game up for West.
The next 10 overs saw Fennah work with Oliver to take another three wickets. The rate was at more than 11 an over by this point, so despite the efforts of the Drumps pro to kick on, he could not do it alone at that speed of scoring. Drumpellier finished all out on 147 having run out of both time and wickets.
