Sadly Barry has passed away rather suddenly but peacefully and Maureen Hammick and John Lea, his two closest friends outside WWFC invite you to his funeral and Wake.

The Wake is at Shirley Park Bowling Club in Mapledale Avenue Croydon CRO 5TG.
Please let me know urgently if you will be attending the Wake and funeral.

Barry played for the Bluebloods for many years in the lower sides mainly the Fives and Sixes and plenty of current members will have played in the SAL with him. Included in this number other than myself are Phil Burnstead, Ronnie Owlett, Colin Pemberton and Malcolm Whitehead who all sat with Barry on the North End bench at Corkscrew Hill in recent years.

Barry was a hard tackling centre back who was also an excellent header of the ball -he gave Phil Burnstead in our goal much needed protection. He continued to support the Bluebloods when he ceased playing and "you could bet your bottom dollar" that he would be on the bench every Saturday to watch whichever team was playing on the First team pitch. We will miss his dry sense of humour which befits a long time Millwall fan and member of West Wickham Bowling Club.
