Last Saturday saw Bluebloods take another step forward with First team.

Watching this game on Spanish TV made me feel pleased that I wasn’t in England last Saturday as the wind ruined the game against Civil Service at Corkscrew Hill where the Bluebloods completed the double over The Servants. It ended 2 – 0 with goals from Sam Murray and Jamie James – so no surprises there then.

Another clean sheet for John Chisholm and we retained our place at the top of Division One just ahead of Polytechnic who won convincingly and Nottsborough who lost convincingly. The wind was blowing “every which way?” and nobody could catch it. Mark Williams got MOM simply because his name began with W.

Today we welcome Old Parkonians and thank them for agreeing to an early kick off at 12.30pm to facilitate the main pitch for an AFA Final at 3pm. Parks beat us 3 – 1 at their ground earlier in the campaign and “put a cat among the pigeons” in our bid to win the title. They are always a very competitive side and today’s game will be one well worth watching.

The "Help the Managers Project" starts today whereby a group of fans have agreed to take some of the stress out of the Manager's day by doing some of the peripheral jobs. At Corkscrew Hill today Mo Stretton heads a team consisting of his best mate Brian, Keith Jones, Dave the Barman and Freddie Freeman who will erect the goals and nets on all 3 pitches. Mo rang at 7.45am saying he needed extra string and a longer ladder -- they have now just found the posts and crossbars and its 11am so its touch and go as to whether they will get even one goal up.

The Threes are also top of the heap and play their nearest rivals Norsemen today at home at 1.30pm. We are 6 points clear with 6 games left so a win today would really enhance our title prospects. Broomfield A are not out of it and the Run In often produces some unexpected results so it’s going to be an exciting few weeks for Chris Tookey’s squad. They have moved easily through the Divisions of the Intermediate Section and winning the title this term would see them in Division Two next season – reaching the top Division is an achievable target and a remarkable one if we can do it. Last Saturday -- we put a big nail in Broomfield A's coffin beating them 3 - 0 at Corkscrew Hill. Eman, Chris Eadon and Ian Seabrook scored.

The Fours went down fighting in their Double Header against Alleyns who won 1 - 0 and 2 - 0 and will probably now end up as Champions. Not sure who scored for us.

The Fives had a nail biting "must win" game at Weirside Rangers and were soon a goal behind. At 2 - 2 it looked as though we would drop a vital point despite goals from Luke Skelly and Dan Thorn but Joe Shorter won us all three points with a superb half volley into the top left hand corner -- it ended 3 - 2. It now looks as if we need to beat Civil Service at home next Saturday to win the League title. And Joe Shorter marches on.

The Sixes are also at home – they take on Actonians Association again at 1.30pm and after beating Polytechnic away 3 - 1 last Saturday I expect them to win.

The Big Question is – Who will score today?

Here’s my answers and your chance to get rich.
Scorers.
Sam Murray
Jamie James
Josh Tutt
Eman
Charlie Smyth
Chris Eadon.

Definite Non Scorers
Mark Williams
Jamie Askew
John Chisholm
Greg Brown
Ian Seabrook
Drew Simmonds
Josh Lloyd

Perm the 7 Non Scoring Selections in multiple bets and you will be rich by 4pm tonight.
Should any of them score - you will see a bright star appear over Sainsbury’s in the High Street and Three Wise Men will emerge through the bushes having got off the bus from Bethlehem in Silver Lane. Maybe they will help Mo and his work party take the nets down.
