Friday evenings game is on the green - a chance to showcase our talents in front of the wider club (and doubtless, a child kicking a football).
We are playing the highly competitive Esher side who are keen to triumph this year. They are strong but do have off days.
We intend on starting at 17:30, 17:15 if we can so that we can get in a full 30 over game.
Once more Adi will be running this game so please give him your support.
Please note - because this game is at the club there is more set up/ clear down than the squad is used to. Please all step up (especially the players) to do the following -
Set the boundary, scorers table, scoreboard, remove rope around main square, set fielding circle, set up stumps & bails, check the length of the wicket, ensure crease is clear (spray in changing room 1) clear away random sunbathers AND do the reverse at the end of the fixture. This includes replacing the boundary rope and any covers as deemed necessary. You haven't really experienced the glory of the club until you have completed all these tasks, especially untangling the ropes and fixing them around the square in the gathering gloom of dusk while being eaten alive by midges and jeered at by those who didn't volunteer but have themselves a drink. Remember them. - you did the better thing.
