Colts keep improving

Vandals U9's were narrowly defeated in their second league game last night against opponents Frimley.

With two changes from Sundays game seeing Aidan and Sebastian introduced the boys lost the toss and were put in to bat. After a solid start by the openers the real impetus for the Vandals innings was provided by Ryan Bradley, who hit some sparkling boundaries in his score of 15. Ably supported by Aidan - who dispatched his first ever ball for four - the lads were set fair with half the innings completed. Not to be undone, fellow debutant Sebastian entered the fray and swiftly smashed his first ball for four also. A few hearty shots from Oscar mixed with some sloppy dismissals and tight Frimley bowling saw Vandals close on 254.

Frimley were solid if not risk taking in their response. Vandals trio Ryan, Oscar and Alfie S all bowled tidily but in the end the wides and no balls (59 extras in all)cost the team dear.

Another good effort from the boys, if we could mix our bowling performance from Byfleet and our batting from Frimley then it will give us a great chance in our next game against Camberley on Sunday.
