E Molesey too strong despite spirited effort

Vandals second game of the season saw them host local rivals East Molesey. After last weeks win a tougher game was expected and that is exactly how the evening transpired.
Bowling first the Vandals started brightly with Ryan Bradley and Oscar both getting wickets in the first two overs. The boys sustained their efforts with Ryan getting another run out - following on from last weeks - and Alfie O plucking a beautiful catch from Flynns first delivery. When U11s debutant Marco added another wicket in his first over the Vandals were well set with the oppo on just 30 after 10 overs. Unfortunately a few wayward overs and some strong late batting from Molesey twins Hal & Joe, saw the visitors close on a healthy score of 100.
Vandals reply never really got any momentum, a regular flow of wickets from some decent bowling restricted the total. Only half of the home side managed to score in the positive and when Joe returned to beam Ryan on the conk and subsequently take three more wickets the final whistle couldn't come soon enough.
A brave performance from the lads against what is sure to be one of the stronger sides at this level will put us in good stead for future matches.
