The U11s started their league campaign with a convincing victory over hosts Frimley.
Debutant Marley Vaughan, from a long line of Vandals stalwarts, set the pace with a well made 9 and worked well with partner - and school buddy - James (6). Edward Drew then added real impetus with a cultured 21 leaving the middle order to cruise along at a tidy pace. Alfie Spiers played some nice shots in his 10 before Oscar blasted us over the finishing line with a destructive 32, including 7 fours.
Vandals ended on 330, only losing 1 wicket in their whole innings.
The bowling started equally well with Marco taking out the Frimley opener second ball. Alfie Spiers followed up with a wicket in the next over and whilst Frimley chipped away their innings was going nowhere due to the steady rattle of stumps. Edward and Ollie Matthews both got in on the act with a wicket each whilst Alfie, Marley and James all took a pair of Frimley's finest. Marley's direct hit run out towards the end added the coup de grace as Frimley finished well short of Vandals total.
An excellent start from the lads with lots to be proud of.
