WVNC A v Oxshott A
How exciting it was this morning to be putting on the beloved dress this morning, holes and all. Some fool (Lucy) commented about how mild it was, followed by a brief spell of play before the heavens opened. Not ideal first game back conditions!
Vandals had a few new combinations and some last minute injuries (Kate) meant Lexie was thrown in at the deep end for her first match in the As. A big welcome to Katie who started at GA.
It’s fair to say we played a little tentatively at times, not 100% sure of ourselves and those around us. Perhaps we should have looked forward more, been more confident in our drives, and focused on being ballside more.
However we improved steadily as the game progressed, we used our circle edge triangles better, and kept ourselves in the game. It was so lovely to be back, and so lovely to play in a squad that is bursting with potential. Now we’ve got the first one out the way, we can really grow and develop together and that is super exciting!
Special mention to Tom, who finished at GK and played a cracking game there. Sending huge hugs to Lizzi who turned her ankle in the last few minutes but as always, was a trooper xx
