Kites vs Vandals C1

It was a chilly Monday evening, and we were facing an opposition we knew were undefeated in the league so far this season. But with another new line up we stepped onto the court with positive minds knowing it would be a tough game.

As we powered through the first quarter both teams were neck and neck on points, until Vandals managed to turn over a couple of centre passes putting us 2 ahead as we went into the second quarter!
We lost our grounding in the second half slightly, and started to rush our game as the opposition put more pressure on us. This didn't ruin our flow, as we ended the second quarter still 2 ahead!

At half time we had a quick rally up and discussed tactics to make sure their defense couldn't bring us down again, and after a few jelly babies everyone was ready to take the second half by storm!

With some incredible tips and interceptions from our WD Alice and our GA Jemima, Vandals managed to crack down on some of the other teams advances to their shooters and turn it around to get the ball back into our attacking third. Ending the third quarter 3 ahead we knew we just had to keep our heads switched on and focus on the next 10 minutes. Yet again with some incredible defending between Alice and Kelly, we bought the ball back down into our territory and with the help of Charlotte and Laura we managed to work the ball perfectly in and out of the circle (even with some questionable marking!).

We finished the last quarter on a goal, meaning we won 17-13, making it our third win of the season for Vandals C1 and over powering the undefeated Kites!

A huge well done to all players, who didn't lose their heads even when we were leading the game and kept focused for the whole 40minutes! And of course to Charlotte Gardener for receiving Players Player after an amazing game of continued support to both defense and attack!!
