Dear Vandals and Friends,
We hope you, your families and friends remain well and are staying clear of risk as far as possible during this awful time.
As you will be aware the current lock down and gradual return to the “new normal” will bring with it unforeseen challenges and hurdles. The timing of sport returning to Brownacres and the reopening of the Club and Bar remains uncertain.
To ensure the Club is in the best possible place to react to whatever the future brings, the Board has taken decisive action. The Club has been effectively mothballed, all staff furloughed, discretionary spend stopped and available Government grants obtained. However, due to the uncertainty and duration of the shutdown we need to safeguard the Club and pitches so that when sport does return, we are in a position to take full advantage. It is with this in mind that we have launched the GoFundMe campaign www.gofundme.com/f/weybridge-vandals-community-sport-fund and are also applying for a Sports England grant of £10k.
For all those members and friends that have already given generously to the GoFundMe campaign we would like to sincerely thank you. The campaign is ongoing and is needed to help the club meet its ongoing fixed cost obligations as well as ensuring the facilities and pitches are fit for purpose for when sport recommences.
Most funding websites add on a donation for providing their services. This donation is not in any way received by us. Whilst this is entirely discretionary, and can be amended to zero, we have become aware that some people donating to us have inadvertently made a payment to Go Fund Me as well. If you are unhappy with this please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will contact you to discuss.
You can also make a donation via www.weybridgevandals.co.uk Rugby website (under ‘Shop’ tab) or directly by contacting email@example.com for banking details.
We look forward to seeing you all back at the club as soon as practical as we emerge from this crisis with renewed strength and morale.
Stay safe with your families.
