Preseason preparations in full swing as Vandals look to build on the successes of last season.

After a 2 month plus break following their successful 2018/19 season in which they gained promotion back to London Division South West 3 Weybridge Vandals RFC are back in full training for the new campaign.

Head coach Damien Porter, who has had a wealth of coaching experience over the years with London Irish Wild Geese, London Irish Academy and Middlesex RFU has brought a fresh approach to training and the players have responded well to the slick fast moving and varied content of the sessions.

Emphasis has been on fitness and plenty of ball handling exercises which have then been applied to game situations full, and as the season fast approaches more time will be given to unit skills .

Damian has as his assistant David Hoade, a knowledgeable and well-respected coach whose work with the forwards last season went a long way towards ensuring promotion. Joining the coaching team is defense coach Andy Jones, skills guru Roland Davies, and Nigel Taylor, also responsible for strength and conditioning programs. Nigel will also coach vandals 2nd XV.

This is a formidable coaching lineup which gives the club every opportunity to enjoy another successful season in which they will renew their long rivalry with Reeds Weybridge and compete against another local side Old Georgians.
