1ST XI v City of Bath
Weymouth played host to top of the league team City of Bath on Saturday. Weymouth started off very strong in the first half, with Wendy Butcher narrowly missing a penalty corner strike and Emily Sauven’s shot just going wide. Weymouth persevered and started to work together and a fabulous piece of team play produced a reverse stick goal from Emily Austin - the first goal against Bath all season. Despite continually testing the Bath keeper throughout the second half the Weymouth ladies were unable to get the ball into the goal, with the ladies from Bath managing to get past Weymouth's defence and produce a equaliser and a eventually a winning goal with 4 minutes of the remaining game. A great competitive game from the Weymouth Ladies who fought hard against a high standard opposition. Final score Weymouth 1-2 City of Bath.
