In the last practice match before the league starts next week, Weymouth put out a strong performance against Swanage Ladies. Weymouth applied the pressure continually for the first 25 minutes, having numerous shots on goal but deprived of a goal by some excellent Swange goal-keeping. Eventually Weymouth put the ball in the net from a cross by Caitlin Dive and followed it shortly by another one, an excellent chip by captain, Emily Austin putting the Seasiders 2 goals up. Weymouth lost concentration in the middle which allowed Swanage to break down the centre and score a break away goal. Weymouth got back on form and Casey Foot managed to deflect another ball in to the goal. Weymouth’s final chance came when a penalty stroke was awarded but Susie Stone failed to convert this opportunity leaving the final score at 3 – 1.
