Salisbury arrived with a very organised team who were well rehearsed and started in much better form than the Weymouth side. Weymouth started on the back foot and were not totally focussed and after 5 minutes found themselves 2 goals down. The team picked themselves up a little when captain Emily Austin returned to the pitch after injury and provided the driving force needed on the right. At half time, Weymouth were 3 goals down and needed a good half time talk. The 2nd half saw Weymouth play much more positively, Gina Huntley and Natalie Halford were both very strong and consistent (going on to be Man of Match). The home team kept a clean sheet for 25 minutes of the 2nd half but conceded 2 more in the final 10 minutes by a Salisbury team who kept their shape and played simple hockey.
