Weymouth suffered a defeat against a resilient Mendip team.
Weymouth fielded an unfamiliar squad and players were asked to play out of position. The first period was dominated by Weymouth, who created numerous chances which were either saved by the Mendip defence or just put wide of the post and were unlucky not to make one count before the break. Naomi Gadian had a strong performance in defence (man of the match), reading any danger and initiating the Weymouth attack.
The second half continued much the same way. Frustrated by being unable to convert any chances, Weymouth's focus dipped and the opposition pounced on a loose ball at the half way line and scored their first with a 1 on 1 against Weymouth goalkeeper, Laura Osborne. Weymouth tried to equalise but were unsuccessful with numerous short corners. Mendip scored a second in the dying minutes to secure the 3 points.
