The first XI made the trip up to Machen, and after a slight rain delay, were first to bat.
After the early loss of Awais, Raman (58) and Dave Tibbs (49) put on a stand of over 90. 27 for Jack Williams and scores in the teens for Webby, Alun Jones and Paul Newman saw WHCC up to 206-9 off 50 overs.
The two Mike's, Ley and Richards had Machen in all sorts of bother at 36-6, Donk taking 4 and Ley taking 2. A wicket a piece for Tibbs and Delf, and 2 for Raman meant Machen were bowled out for about 160.
