Cyclone enjoy the sweet smell of success against Airwick

White Cross Cyclone 27
Reckitts Airwick 19

With the girls knowing their next fixture was not to be for another 4 weeks, they were determined to put 4 weeks worth of energy into todays match! Which is exactly what they did!

The opening quarter was a cagey affair, Reckitts took an early lead whilst Cyclone seemed to take a few more minutes to settle. Reckitts were 3:0 up before Cyclone came back with the quarter ending 4:3 in Reckitts favour, Elisa scoring one and Lois two goals. Eve, Amy and Jess limited Reckitts scoring opportunities and Hattie and Alice as ever were all over the court, with Elisa and Lois taking their limited chances well.

Quarter two turned out to be the big quarter of the match for Cyclone, as they won it 10:4. Lucy and Maddie were supplying good ball to Elisa and Connie, and the shooters were in top form with Elisa scoring 4 goals and Connie 6, Emma, Mathilda and Jess took the sting out of Reckitts attack thwarting their attacks, which took the score to 13:8 in Cyclones favour.

Cyclone again had the edge in quarter 3, winning the quarter 7:5. Emma, Amy and Lucy were working well in defence, Hattie and Alice were supplying the final ball and Lois and Connie scored their chances, Connie 6 and Lois 1, giving a score line now of 20:13.

The final team talk saw the girls chatting that they just needed to carry on what they were doing and close out the game, which is what they did. Goals were pretty much exchanged with Cyclones just having the advantage winning the quarter by 7 goals to 6, Connie scoring 4 and Elisa 3, with Eve Mathilda and Jess doing the business at the back and Alice and Maddie putting the yards in going forwards, to give a final score of 27:19 in Cyclone’s Favour.

Another great result, and for the first time, all 12 girls in the squad were involved and they all played their part.

Player of the match awarded by Reckitts was Connie.

Great effort girls! Well done all!
