The derby match, lots of buzz and chatter beforehand and great to see a bursting corridor of 20 White Cross Players before the match!

Prior to the match the girls selected Hattie to be the Captain for the rest of the season.

The Cyclone girls knew they needed to start quick after a slow start last week in the first quarter, and that’s exactly what they did, with speed and excellent movement on show they opened up a 12:5 lead by the end of the quarter, Connie scoring 8 goals and Elisa 4.

Tempest came back well in the 2nd quarter with both sides working hard and cancelling each other out somewhat, the quarter ended 4 goals each, to give a score line of 16:9 in Cyclone’s favour, Lois scoring 3 goals and Connie 1.

Cyclone kept the intensity up in quarter 3 but Tempest were impressing also with Cyclone just edging the quarter 7:5, meaning it was now 23:14, Elisa scoring 3 and Lois 4 goals.

Another tight quarter in the final one of the match saw both teams giving their all and leaving all of their energy out on the court. Again Cyclone just edged it 7:6, with Lois scoring 4 goals and Connie 3, which gave a full time score of 30:20 in Cyclone’s favour.

Well done to Mathilda making her debut for Cyclone.

Eve, Lucy, Jess and Mathilda worked really well in defence and limited Tempest’s opportunities in attack.

Alice, Hattie and Maddie buzzed around the court and passed and moved well.

Connie, Lois and Elisa again had a good day shooting when the pressure was on.

A big mention to Erin from Tempest who was nominated for their player of the match by the Cyclone girls after scoring an outstanding 20 goals!

Tempest nominated Maddie as their player of the match after a busy skilful display.
