The girls gave their all, parents so impressed!

A hectic week, our league game was moved around a couple of times, then called off, then a match with the Year 9 team Tornadoes was organised, with an early start time of 09:15!

Also in the week, Lucy got an arm injury during a school match, so we wish her well and a speedy recovery.

The girls looked a little nervous pre match, but we spoke of how well they’d been playing and just to give their all, which they did in abundance, giving every ounce of effort on the court.

Quarter 1 saw Tornado start really well looking slick and tall! But the Cyclone girls stuck with it and got into the game after the first couple of minutes and we ended up winning the quarter 9:7. Connie scoring 5 and Lois 4, with both girls shooting really well, Maddie and Hattie supplied the passes to them, with Emma Eve and Jess working really hard to keep Tornadoes at bay.

Quarter 2 was the big one for Cyclone, they won it 11:6, with Connie grabbing 8 goals and Elisa 3. Alice and Hattie covered every inch of the court supplying the ball to Connie and Elisa. Jess, Eve and Lois (standing in for Emma) did really well at the back restricting Tornadoes to fewer scoring opportunities.

Quarter 3 saw Cyclone start 20:13 up, and the quarter ended 28:20 in Cyclones favour. Lois scoring 6 goals and Elisa 2, Alice and Maddie played some great passes and Emma, Eve and Hattie were strong at the back against some great Tornado play.

The final quarter was about to start, the girls were believing they could win it and they gave a loud shout of Cyclone just before the restart. Tornado came out all guns blazing having their best quarter, but Cyclone dug deep and held it there, although loosing the quarter 11:7, they still managed to come out on top with a final score of 35:31 in their favour. Connie was in superb shooting form scoring 7 goals, set up well by Lois, Elisa and Hattie and Maddie, Jess and Emma did well despite Tornado playing very well.

What a performance by all of the girls, I’d say there best of the season to date, so slick in long spells and amazing effort and energy, especially for an early start!
