Whitehall’s Junior section has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years and this year is no exception, we have seen a real boost in our numbers.
As a coaching team we don’t want to lose touch or the momentum we have gained and we hope that a virtual challenge during lockdown is something that we can enjoy as a team even if - at the moment - we cannot play as a team. As an added bonus we can keep fit, active and raise much needed funds for the club at the same time.
Next year is the British and Irish Lions tour, which will take place in South Africa in 2021. During this tournament, we see the nations of the British Isles and Ireland join forces to take on the best teams in the Southern Hemisphere. It is approx. 8136 miles to The Cape Town Stadium in South Africa where the first match will be played on 3rd July, 2021.
For our virtual challenge we have approx 20 weeks until the end of the season and as a club we’d like you to clock up the miles and walk, run, cycle or swim to Cape Town.
There is absolutely no obligation to be involved but the more people who are the more likely we are to complete the challenge. Every mile helps so even if you can’t do much it doesn’t matter just get involved, it’s a team effort. If you are a supporter or player at the club you can definitely get involved and help us complete our challenge.
