Whittington Cricket Club Centenary Cap for players making 100 senior appearances.

Whittington Cricket Club is delighted to announce the launch of the Centenary Cap for players making 100 senior appearances.

Richard Abell, Whittington Club Chairman, "We have achieved so much in the last few years on and off the field. This has included the many fundraising initiatives that have helped us to build a new clubhouse and ground. But we have also been able to increase player participation to the point where we have five competitive teams across a weekend, with over 100 different players contributing last season. Our junior section continues to go from strength to strength, and our senior section overall has never been stronger.”

“We would like to recognise the effort and time commitment that comes with playing for our club. In recognising this commitment we like to present a quality traditional pure wool cricket cap with our club logo with the number 100 to qualifying players. What's more we have generously received a substantial donation to cover the cost of the caps. I hope the cap will be something players either wear during games or treasure once their playing days come to an end. On behalf of the club I would like to also take this opportunity to thank Graham Martin for taking the time to drive this proposal through, it’s greatly appreciated.”

Centenary caps will be presented to players at the Players Presentation Evening on Saturday 12th December.

Those achieving the milestone are: Tris Tanner, Chris Hilyer, James Evans, Dan Kirk, Roger Coles, Rob Evans, Matt Stone, Dan Boden, Andy Collett, Joe Crawford, Matt Walker, Hugh Smith, James Kilgallen, Paul Kilgallen, Greg Hunt, Benny Evans, Graham Martin, Dan Hackett, Justin Meynell, David Butler, Rich Newman, Glen Cullen, Richard Abell and Peter Orgill.

NOTE: Those achieving the same milestone will receive Centenary caps at future Presentation Evenings. For players not listed and/or would like to know their current number of appearances please contact Graham Martin.
