1st Innings-Aston Hall
The home side had 1st use of the deck and racked up an impressive 273-8, which is made more so considering the managed to put on 130 in the last 10 overs. A magnificent 163 from opening batsmen Adam Whiteley, no relation to Countdown Legend, Richard, as far as we know, was the rock that they built their innings on.
Aston Hall 273-8 A.Whiteley 163, I.Afzal 3-76, J.Bothma 2-73
2nd Innings- WOVCC
It was always going to be a tough job to chase a good total on a wearing deck and it wasn't helped when Matt Burton was dismissed 1st ball. Rich Harrison (35) and Jonny Younis (41) had a good partnership of 69 for the 3rd wicket and then Paul Lund picked up from where he left off midweek, scoring a very good and timely 67n0. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals and time also became a factor. Ed Ellis (25no) and Johan (22) gave good support late on but eventually the side ran out of overs to score the required runs, finishing on 217-7.
WOVCC 217-7 P.Lund 67no, .Younis 41
The 1st team are at HOME to Coal Aston next week and will be looking to get back on the victory trail.
