WOVCC furthered their ambitions of a top three place with an excellent victory over second placed Treeton at Northfield Lane.
Wickersley batted first and posted a total of 264-6. Haider Jahangir scored 47 before he was run out, whilst Captain & Stumper Jordan Lowe scored 32. The highlight of the innings was most definitely an excellent 130 not out from Johnny Younis. The in-form ace smashed 15 fours and hammered six sixes in his 120 ball knock. The innings ended in fine style as 35 runs were scored from the final over, leaving WOVCC with all the momentum going into the field.
Treeton could only muster 196 all-out with the main contribution from Charlie Roebuck who scored a noteworthy 75, including 11 fours and two sixes. He was unable to find any significant support from the other Treeton batsmen as Haider Jahangir once again played a vital contribution, taking 4-51.
The victory sees Wickersley within catching distance of Whitley Hall and Treeton who play each other on the final day, whilst WOVCC’s run-in sees them with their final four games against teams in the bottom seven places in the division.
