Wick 1 - 1 Bromley Heath Utd

With the sun shining and pitch freshly cut, Wick boosted the highest attendance in the league with 97 spectators watching the game. Jordan Mignott returned to the squad after missing last week’s 3-1 win against Gala Wilton, Liam Towler was absent as was away on holiday.

Both teams began looking to play quick passing football, on a pitch in fantastic shape and the sun beating down. However it took 20 minutes before the first real chance of the game which fell to Wick, when Billy Richards fired his cross across the Bromley goal just evading the boot of an onrushing Wick forward Jack Creaney. Another chance fell to Wick on 27 minutes but Sam Roberts header was put wide. A third chance followed on 30 minutes but Brad Abraham’s shot blazed over without troubling the Bromley keeper Will Ferguson, and a fourth chance minutes later when Wick's Mikey Golding came close, but it was Bromley Heath who took the lead after 37 minutes with their first real chance, when Wick's defence failed to clear a crossed ball which fell to Aiden Noble who made no mistake to fire past Aston Trott in the Wick goal. A minute later Bromley could have made it two when through on goal but the shot was pulled wide, so half time finished 0-1.

HT Wick 0 – 1 Bromley Heath Utd

Four minutes into the second half Ferguson, Bromley's keeper, brought off a smart save to deny Wick’s Mikey Golding, and again after 57 minutes when he saved from Wick's Jack Creaney when through one on one with the keeper to beat. Wick’s first substitution was forced, when Mickey Golding went down with a pulled thigh muscle, and was replaced by Jordan Mignott after sixty five minutes. Jay Vile was brought on to replace Brad Clarke after sixty nine minutes. Wick drew level after 75 minutes when Will Osbourne fired a free kick into the top corner from outside the box following a foul on Billy Richards. Wick nearly took the lead minutes later but the Bromley defence managed to bundle the ball wide of the post after good work from Mignott. The crowd started to get behind Wick as they continued to apply pressure but it was Bromley who thought that they had taken the lead on the 82 minute mark only to he ruled out for offside. Wick’s defence of Billy Richards, Will Osborne, Todd Carter and Codi Mansfield were standing resolute and Nathan Bell in the centre of Wick’s midfield was winning all the aerial battles against a well drilled Bromley midfield. As the game entered its final seconds Bromley could have stole all three points but for a point blank save from Trott from a Bromley header which signalled the final whistle. A good game played in good spirit which was well refereed.
